MUSIC PRESS CAMPAIGNS

BEYOND THE LITTLE BLACK BOOK

BOOK AN INTRO

A good friend of ours who’s a musician once asked us, “What if my goal is for my record to be in the in-flight magazines for, say, Delta airlines, but all my press agent is doing is contacting the same little black book of journalists in the same small, cultural-geographic pool that they always target?”

It’s an exaggeration, but it’s a strong point. You want an agency that’s going to consider everything from where an artist is from, through what their music actually addresses, to where they aim to have an impact, so that they target press based on those (and other) factors when promoting a record—as well as all those people in the little black book, that is.

That’s what we’re trying to do here. We’ve built up over 700 contacts in the United States, United Kingdom, and across Europe and, with every campaign, we’ll add more based on the specific goals and needs of the artist and their label. We have English, Spanish, French, and German writers on-hand to make sure campaigns are targeted to the audience in natural, non-Google-Translated language. And we’ll actually engage with your releases, strategising for each one based on what the label and artist wants to say and achieve.

SEE PRICES

Another good friend of ours who’s a musician (we hang in certain circles, obvs) told us a story about a press agency that took a massive amount of money for a three-month campaign and then just ghosted the artist who had pumped a large amount of their own money into the release, just to get nothing back from the investment. It was this story that actually inspired us to start doing music PR. We are here but to serve—and for less.

We’ll be in touch weekly with a report on what we’ve been doing, who’s replied and who hasn’t, who’s running a review or looking to do an interview, and who’s outright said “thanks but no thanks.” And we won’t just send them an email when your singles drop and then do nothing until album launch day. We’ll build “drip” strategies that keep putting your release in front of the same people to maximise the likelihood that they’ll pay attention to it—if not the first time, then the second, third, or fourth time.

It’s PR, so there are no guarantees. But at the very least, you’ll come out of it knowing how many people opened the emails we sent out, how many clicked the links in them, which ones responded to our personalised follow-ups, and who’s planning a review, article, or proposed interview. We’ll never ghost a client, we’ll always keep you in the loop, and we’ll always work our butts off in pursuit of the press you need.
